Assistant Cabin Crew Base Manager, Chinese Mainland 空中乘务员中国内地基地助理经理

Role Introduction:
The jobholder is responsible for overseeing the Cathay Pacific cabin crew base(s) in Chinese Mainland, monitoring operations to ensure optimal productivity, cost effectiveness, and ensure legal compliance of policies and practices with local legislation. Additionally, the role involves creating an inspiring environment for Chinese Mainland based cabin crew and facilitating excellent customer service through clear and customized communication. Furthermore, the jobholder oversees both cabin crew and office team at Chinese Mainland base(s) and collaborates closely with the ER&B team in Hong Kong to effectively manage budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
1、Communications
1)Responsible for regular and ad hoc meetings with ISD Headquarter teams in Hong Kong.
2)Ensure regular dialogue with Employee Relations & Bases team (ER&B) in Hong Kong.
3)Maintain regular communication with the Chinese Mainland base offices, local teams and People Department in the Chinese Mainland.
4)Provide updates as required to Head of Employee Relations & Communications – Inflight Service.
5)Maintain the content of the persona internal website for the Chinese Mainland base(s).content of the persona internal website for the Chinese Mainland bases.
2、Performance Management
1)Lead, direct, monitor and be accountable for the performance of all Chinese Mainland based cabin crew and office staff using different methods of measures and channels, and identify areas of opportunity to develop a high performing culture.
2)Identify and recognise outstanding cabin crew for their performance in a timely manner.
3)Manage disciplinary issues, including potential terminations and Attendance Management of cabin crew.
3、COS Legal Compliance
1)In consultation with ER&B in Hong Kong and Chinese Mainland Office, maintain Chinese Mainland base(s)’ policies and practices to ensure continued compliance with COS, local labour laws and CX policies regionally in the Chinese Mainland.
2)Ensure integrity of Cathay Pacific cabin safety and security policies and procedures maintained at all times.
3)Fully support ISD quality and safety and security outcomes including implementation and monitoring of safety and quality activities and processes to ensure ongoing compliance of all regulatory requirements, organisational standards and approved procedures.
4)To communicate with ER&B for any changes of staff policies and procedures in accordance with the legislative changes.
4、Employee Relations
1)Responsible for the management of the employee relations with the Chinese Mainland based cabin crew community.
2)Responsible for regular and ad hoc meetings with Cabin Crew Engagement Group in the Chinese Mainland Base(s).
3)Manage ISD Crew Recognition Program locally.
5、Recruitment and Promotion
1)Manage the recruitment and promotion process in consultation with Head of Employee Relations and Communications and ER&B team in Hong Kong.
2)Manage the recruitment and merit-based promotion process following the Talent Acquisition policies wherever possible.
3)Liaise with relevant authorities on crew list registration and other crew visa application.
6、Budget
1)Plan and manage the preparation of ISD budget for the Chinese Mainland cabin crew base in conjunction with the ER&B and Planning Team – ISD and local FIN team.
2)Monitor and be accountable for all Chinese Mainland base(s) spending, and to initiate efficiencies where appropriate.
7、Other Responsibilities
1)Oversee the administrative and operational practices and implement LEAN and efficient changes.
2)Participate and assist as needed in operation including shift coverage.
3)Travel between the Chinese Mainland base(s) as required.
4)Support with any other reasonable ad hoc tasks as required.
8、E&A
Emergency and Accident and Crisis Response responsibilities as required.
Qualifications / Experience:
1、Academic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.
2、Knowledge, skills, training and experience
1)At least 5 years relevant work experience in the airline industry.
2)Good computer literacy e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, MS Word.
3)Good communication and interpersonal skills with excellent command of written and spoken English and Putonghua.
4)Experience in human resource, inclusive of recruitment, qualifications and knowledge of relevant employment legislation.
